Mātanga Projects has been working on a 2.62km upgrade on Broadlands Road, focused on improving ride quality and safety. Our involvement included completing the topographic survey, detailed design, construction set out, and post‑construction as‑built surveys for the project. The works are being delivered in two sections, with 1.65km recently completed from Bancroft Road heading south toward Taupō, and the remaining 970m to be completed at a later stage. Construction works included widening lanes and shoulders, upgrading swale drainage, installing new stormwater infrastructure, and adding small sections of kerb and channel. The existing road surface was ripped up, raised, cement‑stabilised, and then finished with chip seal and line marking.
